Academy gets deserved go ahead after MP’s intervention
Commenting on the announcement that the Government have given the green light to go ahead with a new building for the University Academy Andrew Miller MP said, “I am delighted that after two discussions with schools secretary Michael Gove, commonsense has prevailed. The project had been previously approved after careful evaluation by the Labour Government so I was confident the new administration would not be able to back off. I hope to see the work start as soon as possible to enable us to get the true benefits of the Academy working on one site. The exciting design and the enthusiasm of the school’s leadership will, I am sure reinvigorate secondary education in Ellesmere Port. I want to see the new learning hub comprising the new FE college and the Academy become a focus of a new drive for excellence in education for all our young people.”
