The weekend was dominated by leaflet delivery to thousands of houses in the constituency. Sorry if you were either one who didn't get one or alternatively didn't want one!
Our Sunday afternoon had a couple of hours break when Fran and I went to the charity football match being run by the Vauxhall sports and social club. Hopefully this has raised a lot for the local Hospice.
Monday, with the whirr of lawn mowers in many gardens the delivery continued but with the enjoyment of Tony Sherlock's hog roast at the White Lion for a part of the afternoon. Sadly, given this was an event charity for the mayor's charity, none of the the Conservative coucillors bothered to show their faces. No comment!
But then back to the big delivery and we blitzed the Stanney estate with a team of about twelve people over the next hour or two. Before all that can happen, the delivery rounds have to be made up post office style. Our friends in the CWU seem to do this with consummate ease, but in reality there has to be a lot of organisation behind the scenes.

This organisation needs people to create rounds that make sense on the ground. An abilty to both read maps mixed with local knowledge of the layout of estates is essential. The picture shows that we are planning ahead!
