An announcement by John Denham MP, Secretary of State for Communities & Local Government, pledges funds to be spent on improvements in the Stanney area.
John Denham said, “I want to see practical solutions delivered on estates and streets that focus on building a real insight into what is happening in those communities and introducing changes that will address the concerns of local people, reconnect them with jobs and tackle the real and perceived sense of unfairness that some people are feeling.”
Andrew Miller MP together with the local Ward Councillors, Derek Bateman, Justin Madders and Lynn Clare will be asking local residents what needs to be improved and how they would like the money to be spent.
The local Labour Councillors have arranged for the first meeting of the Stanney Community Group to take place at 5.15pm on Thursday 29th October in Wolverham Community Centre. All local residents are invited to attend and will be able to raise local concerns as well as voicing their ideas on how to improve their local community.
Andrew Miller, Labour MP for Ellesmere Port & Neston said “This is fantastic news and will give a much needed boost to the Stanney community. I’m sure local residents know what is needed to improve Stanney and together with local Councillors, I will be asking them for their ideas. These funds are to improve their community and I want to see local people decide what is best for their own neighbourhood.” |
