Vauxhall Ellesmere Port
I am confident that the agreement with the Labour Government does provide value for money for the taxpayer.
I know that the due diligence process was very rigorous and I cannot see how the new Government could renege on the agreement on economic grounds.
During the General Election, when Ken Clarke suggested government financial commitments should be reviewed, the Conservative Party denied that his comments had anything to do with Vauxhall Motors.
Any breach of this agreement could therefore only be driven by political malice not economic logic.
